Visiting Batanes is part of every Filipino traveler bucket list. My trip to Batanes is 4days and 3nights to be exact last April 2018. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience for me.
The best time to visit Batanes is in Summer, which is around March to June. It’s a time where rainfalls are minimal, and you’ll experience sunny days in Batanes. You wouldn’t have a problem to explore from places to places if you visit during summer. We booked our Batanes trip through a travel agency with my friends so everything will be organized, but DIY is also recommended. You can find cheap and promo flights from Manila to Basco – Batanes.
To escape to Batanes is to escape to a different world. Full of simple pleasures and raw nature.
1. Simple and Quiet Life
When you’re in Batanes, you will notice that simple life. There are no malls, restaurants, only Sari-sari store that only sell basic household need. Few vehicles because most of the people travel by motorcycle. Staying in Batanes will give you peace of mind and appreciation of simple life.
2. Breathtaking Landscape
The silence of nature is very real. It surrounds you, and you can feel it. My favorite is the Racuh A Payaman (Marlboro Country), which is the perfect place to sit down and stare at the ocean and think nothing for a moment, relaxing and refreshing air. The surrounding’s views, the majestic rolling hills were surreal. The Chawa View Deck Mahatao viewpoint in Sabtang, the ocean, and the sun glare is perfect. When rock meets the waves that gives a cool relaxing vibe.

3.Amazing Lighthouse
It gives you a spectacular view of the whole place and breezy at the top.
4.Long rides with overlooking view.
When we are in Batanes, you must try to take a tricycle. Overlooking view, that’ll take your breath away.

5. Friendly Locals
Locals in Batanes would be more than willing to help you and share their stories. Part of our trip is the Honesty Store, where’s no one operating it. You just drop your payment and list down what you bought.
6.North Batan
Valugan Beach is in North Batan. It is a rocky coastline where the rough waves from the Pacific Ocean polish the rocks brought by the explosion of Mt.Iraya. A beach with no sand but composed of boulders.
7. Sabtang Island and Stone Houses
Sabtang Island is the smallest of the three major islands, the others being Batan and Itbayat. These houses still stand despite of the strong wind or typhoons visit the island.
Well-preserved island.

9. Sacred Church in Batanes

Travelers can describe Batanes in so many words but the ultimate one is enough – Breathtaking.
This why I’m in love with this place. You are truly breathtaking. See you again soon! 🙂
